Another thing I recently built is an Obsidian plugin to resurface my past writing on paragraph level. It features three modes:

1. Pin Paragraphs: add a pin to a paragraph you want to find easily later

2. Loop Paragraphs: cyclical retrieval of starred paragraphs with adjustable cycle length - I use this for “this is interesting, but I dont yet know why” kind of thing

3. Review Paragraphs: resurface past writing from defined sources (Daily Notes and Readwise-synced Reading Notes for me), add Theme Links, copy into existing Drafts, or Pin / Star if needed

I will clean-up and share this one as well, probably before Christmas. If anyone is interested in giving this a try, this should certainly speed up things.

One thing that kept me from reading and writing in the last days was building a mobile-first Obsidian plugin to serve as local endpoint for github.com/blygger/blyg…, the reference client to take a seat in Venkatesh Rao’s shiny speedboat that masters this ocean of drowning social media platforms: blygger.org 🎉

I probably could have written 1-2 essays in the same time, but building this was arguably more fun and it somehow felt necessary, in the way sometimes you have first make paper and craft a pencil to start writing.

Slowly emerging from yet another rabbit hole of tool building. Productive Procrastination never felt so enticing, yet it also yields more results than ever. I think the term “Productive Procrastination” might not age that well in the near future. Getting lost on satisfying side tracks may have been a recipe for failure on the main quest. But what if the environment changed, from linear RPG towards procedural sandbox builder?
